Venue shopping can be stressful - I mean it is one of the most important decisions of the wedding! So check out these five quick tips for picking out the perfect wedding venue!
1. Choose a Venue that Aligns with Your Vision.
Just like with anything in life, if it doesn't align with your vision then it's probably not for you. As your wedding planner, I would never want you to pick a venue that does not match up with what you picture for your big day. So close your eyes and picture it - the big white dress, the flowers everywhere, the smiling faces and happy tears. Now where do you see yourself?
2. Know Your Guest List.
Before you go venue searching you need to have a pretty good idea of how many guests you plan on inviting because that will determine the amount of space you need. No venue is created equally - some hold 200 and some only hold 50. So make sure you know your guest count before you book a venue and find out there's not enough space for all 200 of your closest friends.
3. Remember Your Budget.
Budget is so important when picking a venue. Some venues are all-inclusive and some are do-it-yourself, while some offer both options. Before you buy you need to figure out what you can realistically afford while factoring in all the other costs associated with a wedding.
4. Think About What is Included.
As mentioned above, some venues are all-inclusive. This is a personal favorite of mine because you don't have to worry about if the flowers made it onto the table or if the candles are lit because there is someone to do that for you. If you don't go the all-inclusive route make sure you know what is included and what is not included so you are not surprised on your big day.
5. Think About the Location.
Location is one of the most important aspects of your big day. If you stick to a local venue where all your family and friends are located you are more likely to have more people show up. If you choose to have your venue further away you may not have as big of a turnout.
Keep these tips in mind as you venue shop to keep it a stress-free experience!
